I thought of having an ice cream social because I like to see how people interact with people that use communication devices -- and everyone loves ice cream!! My favorite flavor is s’mores.
Jennifer, my local AAC consultant from PRC-Saltillo, contacted the ice cream place called Graeter’s Ice Cream to make sure it would be ok, accessible, and ask if it would be big enough for several wheelchairs. After they said yes, Jennifer made invitations. Amy, who works at Ohio State university and the speech language pathology department invited several Ohio State University students to the ice cream social. It was a great turn out.
