Error

In this time of more people staying at home: many of us are online using social media to connect with friends and family. Some are watching more tv or streaming movies.

A couple of weeks ago, we decided to upload the brand new Disney Plus on our Roku streaming stick.  I was really excited to watch The Mandalorian series, and my dad was completely thrilled about the Marvel Universe section.

One night we decided to unload the Disney app and join the network.  But when we clicked on the channel a blue screen popped up.  Error!  After trying to open the channel multiple times, we deleted the channel and re-installed it. We finally called the Disney people and they said we needed a newer Roku stick.  So off we went on an adventurous department store run and bought the newest Roku stick available.

Once again we had the same blue error screen when we tried Disney Plus.  We called Disney, and they said we could watch the channel on our phones. Another option was to make our phone a hot-spot; but then the phone hot-spot would always need be close by in order to stream the channel. We also called Roku, and they told us that our internet wasn’t good enough.  The internet has to stream at 5G or higher.  Our signal fluctuates, but when we checked it was 4.8.  It was only .2 points short.

A lot of times in life we get close but just fall short of our goals.  We can give up on the goals or keep reaching for them. While it can be easy to get discouraged when just missing the mark, don’t give up. Get back up again and try, try again. We may have to consider another route to get Disney plus, but we are coming for you, Mandalorian.

This is Life with Kyle and I will talk to you next week.
