Naiya's Story

Posted Dec 2, 2025 - 10:28am

by Naiya Daves, PRC-Saltillo Ambassador

This summer I did a 3 week intensive therapy program where I worked on vocalization. My therapist helped me roar like a dinosaur and find my quiet voice like a mouse. I learned to say new words, get stronger and faster when saying words. They made me laugh, we played tic tac toe and Chutes and Ladders. It felt phenomenal learning new ways to use my voice.

I also did my first PRC-Saltillo vendor booth this year. I felt happy because I talked with people using my device. My favorite question to ask everyone was “What did you have to eat for breakfast?” This event made me feel confident because I showed many people how I use my eyes to communicate with my device.

I love bringing my device to school because it helps me talk to my friends.
