A Promise Broken

By Jo Misek, author

A Promise Broken is the third part of the four-book Adi’s World series. Adi & Arnie still live in Maple Community (inside a hollow sugar maple tree in Vermont). Ayden now lives in Cliff City (a town inside a crevice in the side of a cliff), and his twin, Jayden, lives in Tunnel Town (an underground village connected to an ant colony).

The calmness of Adi’s small world is shattered when earthquake tremors hit! Adi & Arnie are trapped in the cross-over area of the root tunnels, an underground travel system between Maple Community and Oakville (another tree community). They manage to save the four younger children trapped with them, but then another tremor destroys the emergency exit. Their area is flooding! Water is rising fast.

The earthquake tremors create a crevice in Cliff City! Ayden & Paul fall into the deep crack, trapping them way underground. The only way out is to crawl through a worm tunnel. Ayden must face his worst fear, being trapped in a small space, but it’s the only way to save himself and his friend.

Jayden was enjoying a mining trip with his friends Colin & Greg until the tremors cause a cave in in their tunnel. Greg’s knee is badly injured. Debris has separated Jayden from the brothers. Jayden must travel deeper into the underground tunnel to find a way to save his friends. He finds a way out, but can he make the dangerous climb with a badly injured shoulder?

Book Cover

These challenges are only the beginning of A Promise Broken. Will Adi and her friends survive the dangers they face? What will everyone do when even bigger disasters rock this tiny world? Will it be possible to keep a special promise made between twins? Or will that promise be broken?

I hope you enjoy the third part of this series. I think it’s the best book so far. The finale is being revised and will be in print later this year.
