during the holidays? How do you communicate those feelings and interact with family
and friends?
SLP: “What is your favorite holiday?”
Lyle: “Christmas”
SLP: “Why?”
Lyle: “Gifts. Home light tree.”
SLP: “Who do you talk to about the stress of the holidays?”
Lyle: “Me talk parent to friend”
SLP: “Is there something in particular that makes you stressed during the holidays?”
Lyle: “Yes”
SLP: “What would that be?”
Lyle: “Yes fight food blame people”
SLP: “Who is the fighting between?”
Lyle: “My family”
SLP: “What do you do for self care when you are stressed during the holidays? Do you spend time alone or watch movies or something else?”
Lyle: “Yes, I like to watch movie and me hear music”
SLP: “Do you have a certain genre or anything?”
Lyle: “Yes”
SLP: “Anything else off the top of your head about seasonal self care?”
Lyle: “Me like to go on walk”
SLP: “Who do you like to go with?”
Lyle: “Me like go on walk my staff”
SLP: “Anything else in particular you thought of self care during the holidays?”

SLP: “Do you like to look at the Christmas lights on your drive?”

SLP: “Who do you go on your drives with?”
Lyle: “My staff”

Lyle: “I like me my staff we like bake cookies”
SLP: “What kind of cookies do you make?”
Lyle: “Cookie sugar”
SLP: “Do you eat them plain or add frosting?”

SLP: “Are there other holidays that are stressful, or only Christmas?”

SLP: “Does talking about the stress with your parent or friends help?”

SLP: “When you are stressed, what do you say to your family?”
Lyle: “I feel frustrated and family”
SLP: “Do they listen to you when you say that?”

SLP: “Does it help the situation when you express how you feel?”

Lyle: “I like morning bad afternoon good 50 50”
SLP: “Referring to everyday or holidays?”
Lyle: “Holidays”
SLP: “Growing up, did you have any traditions?”
Lyle: “No”
SLP: “Nothing with family or friends?”
Lyle: “Christmas and Thanksgiving”
SLP: “What did you do for traditions at those holidays?”
Lyle: “My mom, sister, brother live visit my aunt house”
SLP: “Does she live in town or do you have to travel to her house?”
Lyle: “In town”
SLP: “Do you have any other traditions with food, activities, games?”
Lyle: “My aunt make turkey to soup sheep”
SLP: “Do you like it?”

Lyle: “Bread I am Navajo Native American”
SLP: “Oh so that’s something you guys eat?”
Lyle: “My aunt make turkey to soup sheep bread Navajo Native”
SLP: “So you guys have some unique dishes you eat?”
Lyle: “Yes”
SLP: “Are there any other dishes you make that are unique to your Navajo culture for holidays?”
Lyle: “No aunt make pudding orange delicious”
SLP: “Do you like when it snows? “
Lyle: “Yes”
SLP: “Do you like to be inside and watch it or be outside in it?”
Lyle: “Yes I like me go outside snowy”
SLP: “Do you have a favorite gift that you’ve gotten at Christmas?”
Lyle: “Cap”

Lyle: “My sister”
SLP: “Do you feel more stressed or more anxious during the holidays?”
Lyle: “I don’t know”
SLP: “What would be your most ideal, most perfect holiday?”
Lyle: “Me favorite Christmas”

Lyle: “Turkey potato brown sauce”

Lyle: “I do Thanksgiving Christmas”
SLP: “Do you prefer to spend time with family, friends or alone during the holidays?”
Lyle: “I can’t lonely. I like family”
