Hi, my name is Matt. I'm 40. I was born with a condition that makes it very difficult for me to control my muscles. My thinking and my senses are not affected at all, just my body. Inside, I'm just like any other guy you know, and probably smarter and funnier than most! I can't speak, but I can communicate using a special device called an Accent. I control the Accent with a switch I click with my chin. With the Accent, I can talk to people, send email, listen to music, and control my TV. I also use a regular Windows computer with special software for my chin switch. I use the computer to surf the internet, and to place bets on my favorite thoroughbred horses. I have been a prc user for most of my life. I had a light talker then liberator and then pathfinder and then echo and lastly accent. I know how to program my accent.. I want to become an abassador because I really love to talk to new people about my disability and my communication device. And plus I like to try new technology. I am a good writer too. I won a writing award in college.
