Hi, my name is Jorge Jacobo. I am 34 years old and I live in orange county, California. I am honored to be an ambassador for PRC Saltillo. this is my first job ever. I have c p and I have been using a communication device since I was seven years old. I only have control of my head and I use a single switch to access my communication device. Even though i cannot talk like other people it doesn't mean that i don't have a lot to say. because of my access Method it takes a long time to share my thoughts. Just because I communicate slowly doesn't mean that what I say is not as important as someone who talks fast . We live in a fast paced world with lots of time limits. Using 1 switch, I can control my communication device to talk, and i can do a lot more than that. I can program my device. i can make phone calls and send text messages. i can also use instagram and facebook. i am able to use computer technology with a mouse emulator.
My first communication device was a delta talker. i got a Pathfinder in high school. Later i used an Eco2. last November, i got this accent 1400. My journey has not been an easy one. although most people have been respectful and supportive, unfortunately I have encountered many barriers (both people and circumstances) that frustrate me. I want people to know that even when life is challenging, when people don't listen, and things can seem hopeless, it is important to stay positive and keep going. If you run into an obstacle, keep trying. never give up. Life is good. if you are struggling and need some inspiration, let me know.
I like to talk on the phone, send texts, and use instagram and facebook. I also like watching wrestling and listening to music.
