Create simple monsters and then talk about them.

Material Type: Writing Template

paper monster

 What you need:

  • construction paper
  • scissors
  • My Monster story sheet (download available above left)

 What to do:

Create simple monsters using colored paper. Have your student use their device to choose color, shapes, and body parts.

They are simple to make. Let the kids go wild with them. Give them different color shapes, strips for arms and legs, and white die cut circles for eyes. For everything else they used scrap paper (and their imaginations).

After creating the monsters, have the student use their device to make up things that their monster is, things their monster has, and things they can do. There are no right or wrong answers, so encourage the student to get as silly and creative as they want.

Fill in the My Monster sheet and record all their ideas.
