Using the Phone with AAC

Have you ever tried to order stuff or make appointments on the phone while using your devices?  Here are my tips I have that could help. First, do some research on what questions the organization will ask you. Next, make a PREPROGRAMMED page and make sure you start with the statement “I’m using technology to help me talk, can you give me a minute?” Have all your information on different buttons. That way when they ask the questions you can reply with your answer quickly. Most likely they will not understand you the first few times, so please be patient because you may need to repeat it until the person has it. Before you hang up make sure that everything is right in their system. I know this takes work and guts but you got this! I challenge you before January to try this. You deserve your independence as much as everyone else not using AAC!
