Everybody Loves Ray

Ray

Ray is a 19 year old graduating Senior this year from Hayward High School in Hayward, WI. He has been using Prentke Romich speech generating devices for over 8 years.

Ray received his Vantage speech generating device when he was in 6th grade. At that time, the large majority of his communications were single word verbal utterances. Now, 8 years later, the world is hearing what Ray has to say!

Ray is currently a successful communicator using grammatically correct sentences up to 9 words in length. Ray continues to need his Accent 800D; however, as Ray finds success using his speech generating device, his verbal language and articulation skills also increase.

He is now able to independently program pages and activity rows, modify Accent 800D settings, and import picture icons. Ray uses his new Accent 800 in all settings.

His favorite communication partners are the school liaison officers. He is probably the only student to be driven to a dance in the front seat of a police squad car!
