Jason Dean was a friend of mine and my idol because he played football while I can't. We used to watch football every Sunday. He played for his high school football team. This one time after his team had won their game, the whole team gathered around me and my friend presented me with the game ball. My friend said to me I was the whole team's inspiration for the win. He also said I was a man of courage because I have to deal with my disability everyday. My friend went off to college and he played football there. I went to see him play in college once. My friend wasn't a star in college but he was still was my idol. Jason had some set backs in his life. We didn't keep in touch over the years. I saw him again at his mom wake. He looked good and we started talking about his mom. (his mom was my nurse.) He wanted to come and visit me but he didn't. Jason Dean died lin February. I truly will miss him.
A Tribute to My Friend (developed with support by ChatGPT)
By Matt Huggins
(Verse 1) Jason Dean was a friend of mine, A hero in my eyes. He played the game I couldn't play, Under those bright blue skies.
(Chorus) Every Sunday side by side, We cheered for every score. He gave his all, both near and far, But I always loved him more.
(Verse 2) One sweet day, his team had won, They gathered proud and tall. He placed it gently in my hands, That precious victory ball.
(Chorus) He called me brave; he called me strong, A courage he could see. But in my heart I always knew, He was the strength for me.
(Bridge) Years went by, the roads diverged, We lost the paths we knew. But memories stayed, they never fade, Like skies forever blue.
(Verse 3) I saw him last at his mother’s wake, We spoke of days gone by. He said he’d come, he meant to stay, But never said goodbye.
(Final Chorus) Jason Dean, your spirit flies, In fields of endless light. A friend, a star, forever near, You’re shining still tonight.
(Outro) I’ll miss you more than words can say but hold you deep within. My idol, friend, my hero true, Until we meet again.
