Going out in the community with my AAC Device

Posted Jun 7, 2024 - 9:01am

By Nicole (Nikki) Kary, PRC-Saltillo Ambassador

I love going into the community with my AAC Device. Not only does it lets me meet new people and they can see how intelligent I am but it also makes people realize that people with disabilities can have thoughts and feelings and that we can have normal conversations. Going to volunteer at Kids Food Basket is a great way to meet people and show people that people with all abilities can contribute to their community and can be contributing members of society. Without AAC Devices nobody would know what people with different abilities are capable of and I certainly wouldn't be where I am today.
