My name is Luther. I live in Northport, Florida. I live with my mom, Kayla, David, and my sister Leah. My mom, Jennifer, died in 2013 when I was eight years old.
I was born in Abilene, Texas. I was premature and I had a brain bleed. I had a trache put in when I was nine years old. I went to Texas with mom Kayla. I saw my grandpa, grandma, and my aunts, uncles, cousins and sisters, China and Cali and Rafinha and Uncle Aaron. I was using my little hands to talk to them.
I did not have my device yet. I like going to Texas to see them. I wanted to talk more to them.
I got my first device. It was a blue device to help me talk. When I got into fourth grade, I moved to Florida. I didn't want to talk with my blue iPad because it was too big. I didn't use it for a lot of years.
Then my speech pathologist, Mrs. Mary Lisa, helped me get it. I like my black device and I talked more. When I meet new people, I tell them this is an augmentative communication device, and I am using it to help me speak. I want to help different kids to use devices. I want to tell them I like my NovaChat device because it help me make friends.
I like talking to people like Miss Laurie. Miss Josie and Mr. Kevin. I like talking to my friends at school, Jacinda, Ryan and Grace. I like being friends with Grace and Ryan and Mr. Kevin. My NovaChat device helped me make friends at school. I can talk more to my family. People in my family talk more to me. NovaChat did a good job making my black device for me. Thank you.
