My name is endever* (sounds like “endeavor”), and you can call me they or xe instead of he or she. I’m a multiply disabled, semispeaking Autistic who enjoys doing presentations and research on topics related to AAC. I consider myself a strong multimodal communicator; I like to switch between AAC, ASL, and spoken language as is most appropriate for whatever brainstate (and whatever situation) I’m in at the time. I first got to try LAMP Words for Life on my iPad Pro in April 2026, and I’ve been loving using that for my day-to-day communication ever since! I’m also hoping to try out Dialogue AAC soon.
I live in the Midwest with my partner and our family. I love watching my shortlist of favorite TV series, from start to finish, over and over (there’s a spreadsheet!). My favorite stim toys are plastic, colorful, and tangly. And I think AAC itself probably counts as a special interest for me at this point. I love talking to caregivers, clinicians, and students - as well as newer AAC users - in hopes that disabled kids growing up today will have better access to communication that works well for their bodybrains! Some of my niche communication interests include queering AAC, equitable communication access in healthcare settings, ASL as a tool beneficial to some autistic people, part-time AAC use, vocabularies that reflect diverse identities and lifespan needs, and just generally deconstructing the notion that mouthwords are a superior form of communication. Fun fact: my left forearm has a big QWERTY-style letterboard tattoo!
