By Lyle Bahe, PRC-Saltillo Blogger

My name is AllieJane and I am an SLP. I have worked with Lyle on and off for about 5 years, always seeing him at his DTA (day program). Lyle has eagerly been searching for ways to work and interact with others and tell people about his device. Today, we were talking about his device, some challenges he has had, what he has liked with his device, and his experiences. Lyle decided this would be a great convo to share with readers about his communication journey, as it has been a long road and he is finally excited to have an outlet to share with people.

Lyle: I have communication device long time. I don't like the head or leg switch. I like eye gaze.
SLP: why do you like the eye gaze?
Lyle: work good me.
SLP: what was hard about learning to use a device or eye gaze- what was a challenge that you had?
Lyle: Switch work not. Use long time not like. Next eye gaze I like. Hard to learn word location, now a pro.
SLP: Is there anything you don't like about your device or using it?
Lyle: no
SLP: what is the best part about having your device?
